This one is for my freshwater anglers. Balling on a budget does not have to keep you from enjoying the outdoors. Last time I checked bass do not eat dollar bills, so here is an easy way to stay ripping lips when the dollars are tight.
Tackle is an essential part of fishing. Unfortunately, whether you fish artificial or live bait, it can become pricey. As a freshwater bass angler, we have all used soft plastic lures. In my opinion, this form of tackle is undeniably the best. Soft plastics have a multitude of actions, colors, body types, and uses. All of these features are packed in a rather inexpensive product, making it the lure of all lures. So when needing to rip some lips and the budget is tight, you can grab a pack and hit the water.
A specific body I look for is the 6" in worm. It can be fished in all weather, top or bottom of the water column, and in various configurations (Texas rig, wacky rig, shaky head rig). Average price for soft plastic worms is around 7.50. The great part about this lure is that it can be purchased almost anywhere that has a sporting goods section. A great place to purchase lures is Walmart. They are located throughout the United State and carry fishing products in store.
So rest assured guys. Where your dollars fall short, soft plastics pick up!
